The clients 1960s home in Birkenhead was dated and divided by excess walls, whereas the couple wanted a more open plan look, as well as a larger kitchen.
This work was actually our second time working with the the clients – we’d previously transformed their basement area by adding another bedroom for their growing family.
The construction team then turned the couple’s dreams to reality, by first of all removing excess walls, which immediately lightened up the living space. The kitchen space was increased by pushing the cupboard space over the neighbouring stairs and removing the window. Everything was completed on time and to budget.
We have now used LC Designer Homes for two renovations. Firstly our basement area in 2011, and then our lounge/kitchen/dining/entranceway transformation in 2013. We now have a stunning 5-bedroom home.
The standard of work was very high, and the renovation has added significant value to our home. Adam (at LC Designer Homes) was great to deal with – and kept us up to date every step of the way. He was very flexible when we increased the size of the project, and the job was completed very quickly without any issues.
Adam has very good communication skills and kept us up to date by email, phone, or in person – he had regular meetings with us to check that we were happy. We were confident with the people he contracted, and felt that our home was in safe hands at all times.
These projects were managed very smoothly from start to finish, as we were able to use Michelle Leonard for design ideas, and her mother Sandy Rogers to do all the plans and make sure we had all the documents we needed for the council processes. It was fantastic to have Sandy, Michelle and Adam all on-site at the start of each project to discuss our ideas and come up with a plan.
We would not hesitate to recommend the LC Designer Homes team to anyone doing a renovation.
